We are committed to providing our clients and their pets with the benefits of technologically advanced veterinary science in a comfortable and friendly environment. Led by Dr. Gary Yarnell and Dr. John Pisciotta, our clinical team focuses on preventative care as a time-proven approach to optimizing health and wellness in our patients.
Pets with fur, feathers, and scales can each be treated and cared for by our experienced veterinary doctors. Several of the veterinary services we offer include wellness exams, sick visits, vaccinations, dentistry, surgical care, radiology, lab testing, and nutritional counseling. In addition to veterinary services, boarding accommodations and grooming services are also available. We offer specialty services to our clients as well, including veterinary care for exotic pets such as reptiles, birds, and small mammals.
For emergency services, Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital is one of the few practices in the area who are able to provide 24/7 service to our hospitalized patients. Our doctors are available in-person for scheduled appointments and emergency cases during our regular business hours, and for emergency advice 24 hours a day.
Dr. Gary Yarnell purchased the Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital (RHVH) from Dr. Howard Harmon in 1980. At the time, the practice consisted of one full-time and one part-time veterinarian, with a support staff of four, working in a single story building. We are proud to say that since then, under Dr. Gary Yarnell’s leadership, the hospital has grown into a six-doctor practice with a strong support staff team.
Currently, state-of-the-art medical care is provided in a modern, two-story facility which has been expanded and renovated to accommodate the growing needs of the practice, its patients, and the community.
Dr. John Pisciotta joined Dr. Yarnell in 1992 and became a full partner in 1996. Dr. Pisciotta is nationally known as an exotic animal veterinarian and through his expertise the hospital was able to add exotic animal medicine and surgery to the many services it offers. The hospital facility has a separate, newly refurbished exotics ward, capable of safely and comfortably housing many different species of reptiles, birds, and small mammals. Dr. Blair Green, who is also an expert in exotic animal care, joined Dr. Pisciotta in 2011 to assist with this very busy aspect of the practice.
Together, our doctors and staff work tirelessly to help ensure the furry, feathered, and scaled pets in our community live long, happy, and healthy lives with the humans who love them.
